Production of glass by glass manufacturers

Glass manufacturers use a lot of advanced methods in their production and glass technologies to produce innovative glass designs .It is astonishing to note how the world surrounding us use glass and yes it can be seen right from a simple table mirror in a dressing table to the glass tables and cupboards of our office. The usage of glass has got its own application and if we probe deep into the glass technologies' manufacture we are surely astonished to note how glass manufacturers use extreme caution to produce high quality glass for our daily usage.

The first kind of natural glass occurred quite randomly as a natural byproduct of lightning strikes, eruptions of volcano and fallen meteorites. The human made glass heated and cooled the unique set of soda ash, lime stone and sand. While the ideal production of glass is known to use several well known methods the [flat glass production method] the ideal float method was developed by Alistair Pilkington in 1952. Standard float glass includes sand, soda ash limestone dolomite alumina and a small percentage of other materials. These components are measured, mixed and then fed into a furnace. The furnace heats all these ideal components to approximately 1000 degrees Celsius and it is thus converted into molten glass on a float bath.

In the float bath, the already molten glass floats and rather than sinking the glass spreads out and sits on the top just like the oil which spreads and sits on the top of water. This generates the prefect glass of uniform density. The glass can be pulled along the top of the molten tin by haul-off conveyors present at the end of the float area which actually transport the molten glass into a Lehr..Mean while the glass is cooled to about 600 degree Celsius and by the time it enters the annealing lehr [which is actually a klin with acutely controlled temperatures] the glass is about to enter the solidification stage because inside it the glass undergoes a controlled cooling process and later it becomes solidified.

of the latest method usually check the glass at the stage as it leaves the lehr and also before it is cut into the required sizes. Any kind of substandard or flawed glass would be removed from the conveyor. It is then broken up and reused as raw material. The sheets of glass which meet the required quality control standards are then cut into the required sizes and exported to other countries.
